This course is for you if you already have basic crewing skills and want to gain more experience. It’s an ideal follow-on from RYA Competent Crew, or if Competent Crew covers a lot of ground you already know. The course builds on your existing knowledge and gives you additional skills.
Charter companies normally require a named person as skipper. He or she must hold a recognised sailing certificate. In addition another person is named as ‘co-skipper‘, capable of helping to sail the boat. This course will equip you to act as the main crew member / co-skipper on a charter yacht in Greece or elsewhere in the Mediterranean.
Are you likely to sail with just two adults on board? Or with inexperienced friends or family? If so, you need to feel confident that you could get the yacht safely back to port and/or call for assistance should the skipper be ill or have an accident. This course will give you the skills you’ll need.
