Would you like to be part of a crew sailing in the 10th Aegean Regatta this August?
We have been asked to pass on the opportunity for sailors to participate in this prestigious event. No prior yacht racing experience is necessary.
Your yacht would be KORALIA 3, a 54 ft Jeanneau ketch that has the pedigree to be competitive on the race-course yet also provides comfortable accommodation on board.
Join the Yacht in Athens on August 17 and help sail her to the island of Limnos in the Northern Aegean. The regatta starts here on August 21. The islands that will be visited during the course of the regatta will include Thassos, Samothraki, and Lesvos. The Greek Ministry of the Aegean is the organizing sponsor and helps with each island hosting different events and excursions for the regatta sailors.
Most of the time will be spent on board the yacht but you will stay ashore at various stopover points.
At the end of the regatta you will help sail the yacht back to Athens to complete your adventure.
KORALIA 3 is a 54-foot racing ketch built in 1989 by the French yard Jeanneau. She was designed by Guy Ribeau-Dumas in the late 80’s. She was the last of a production line yacht known as the Trinidad series.
The first owner commissioned the builders to customize her more than the standard production option available at the time. She was built as a ketch as the owner was planning to race her here in Greece. With most sailing courses here being long reaches and a lot of down wind-sailing, the Ketch option was the best in terms of sail area one can hoist when sailing these courses.
