Four successful students sail back to our base with their instructor after completing their RYA Day Skipper Practical on Phoebe, our Sun Odyssey 45.2.
Congratulations to Ian Dodson from Ireland, Marc Bigler from the UK, Maria Besi from Greece, and Jennifer Kurt from Germany, who all passed their practical course last week.
It was lovely to welcome back Marc and Maria, who took their Competent Crew course with us last year.
Jennifer has spent a few weeks on Aegina. She completed both Competent Crew and Day Skipper Practical courses and also took her Marine Radio Operator’s course and exam on Saturday. She sent me some lovely emails on her return to Germany:
I want to thank you for your encouragement and support. You, George, Elena, Sue, Mark, Jake, Nektarius, Dimitra and all the others made my time in Aegina. I felt very welcome and enjoyed it so much even though it was quiet alot to learn and my head is smoking now 😉
I really enjoyed my time in Greece. Everybody was just awesome and I felt very welcome. I learned a lot and and I know there is even more to come. It feels good when you actually start knowing what to do on the boat and it becomes more and more fun. I love it. Now it is about practicing 🙂
I really hope to see you again. I miss you all already!
I am sending you a big hug. Take care!
It was our pleasure to teach you, Jennifer, and we hope to see you again too! Happy sailing.
That’s Jennifer in red on the winch in the photo below by the way …
