Course Description

To prepare for most of our practical courses, such as Day Skipper Practical, you will need a basic theory knowledge. This course provides the needed sailing knowledge to further build on. You can complete it online where you will find many interactive exercises to help reinforce the information and lots of chances to try out what you’ve learned. The course will take 10 – 12 hours, but the beauty of it is that you can work through it at your own speed, whenever and wherever you like. All you need is internet access and your course pack.

For Who?

You are interested in sailing, motor boating, sea angling or diving, and works well in complementing our on-the-water training.

You are flexible and with an internet connection.

You would like to grow further along the RYA courses but need the required theory.

What will you learn?

The topics covered in the course include: charts and publications, safety, engine checks, buoyage, tidal awareness, visual and electronic navigation, pilotage, rules of the road, anchoring, weather forecasts, and passage planning. You will need to complete a A taster of the course can be seen on the RYA Interactive website (http://www.ryainteractive.org/).

What is included?

The online course pack includes practice charts, course handbook, exercises and a set of navigation instruments (plotter and dividers). With downloading through us, you will also receive additional topics of information relevant to sailing in Greece.

If you complete the course, you will receive your certificate once you start your practical course.

This also includes the costs for postage of your course pack and navigation equipment by normal mail. If you live in a country where post is not good, we can arrange for delivery by carrier at additional cost.

Use of personal data

To enable access to your online course we need to share some of your personal data with the RYA via your user profile in www.ryainteractive.org. This learning management website is hosted and maintained by a third party called Learning Pool, who will not use your personal information for any reason other than enabling your course.
