Located just a short distance from Athens, Aegina is our main base and home to our sailing school office. From here, we have organised countless sailing courses and milebuilder trips over the years. It is the perfect place to start your sailing journey, combining excellent sailing conditions with the authentic atmosphere of a Greek island.
From 2027 onwards, we will also be organising sailing courses and trips from the Greek island of Samos and from The Netherlands. Two new locations, each offering a completely different sailing experience and bringing their own unique advantages.
In Samos, you can expect more wind, longer distances and more commercial shipping, while sailing in The Netherlands gives you the opportunity to build valuable experience on tidal waters, with currents and much more variable weather conditions.
These different environments offer the perfect opportunity to develop your sailing skills, broaden your experience and become a more confident and versatile sailor.
Below, you can discover more about each of our sailing bases and what makes them unique.
Aegina is our main sailing base and the perfect place to start your sailing journey. Located in the beautiful Saronic Gulf, just a short distance from Athens, it offers ideal conditions for all kinds of sailors.
With short sailing distances, plenty of nearby harbours and sheltered waters, you’ll spend more time sailing and less time on long passages. The area is also perfect for practising essential manoeuvres, including navigating around shallow waters and anchorages, helping you build confidence in a safe environment.
Thanks to the lighter and more predictable winds, Aegina is the ideal place to learn the fundamentals of sailing and gain experience at a comfortable pace. It is also very easy to reach: fly to Athens, take a bus to Piraeus and catch the ferry to Aegina.
Our second base in Greece, located in the east of Greece in the Dodecanesos:
Sailing around Samos offers a different experience from the Saronic Gulf, with more wind, longer sailing distances and more commercial traffic. At the same time, the smaller harbours and less touristy surroundings create a relaxed and authentic sailing experience. It’s a great choice for both beginner and advanced sailors, and for those who have already sailed with us around Aegina and want to discover a new part of Greece.
With the airport only five minutes from the harbour, Samos is also incredibly easy to reach. You can arrive, step aboard and start your sailing adventure without the stress of a long transfer.
And with warm, pleasant weather lasting well into autumn, Samos is an ideal destination for sailing later in the season.
From 2027 onwards, you can start your sailing course or milebuilder in The Netherlands, with different starting locations:
Stellendam · Rotterdam · Amsterdam · Medemblik
What makes sailing in The Netherlands unique is the combination of tidal waters, currents and highly variable weather. The North Sea and Wadden Sea offer challenging conditions with currents, changing water levels, shipping lanes and demanding navigation — ideal for building experience in navigation, passage planning and sailing skills.
When conditions are less favourable, sheltered inland waters provide a safe and enjoyable alternative. Combined with beautiful destinations and well-equipped marinas, this variety makes it possible to sail throughout the year.
